Police Investigating Two Hit and Runs In Philly

Two different, unrelated auto vs pedestrian accidents happened within the overnight hours, in different areas of the city.

The first was in Port Richmond, at Allegheny and Richmond, at the Sunoco station. A 53 year old man was minding his business, pumping gas when a 2011 Hyundai Sonata sped through the parking lot, striking the man, He was hit with such force that he was pinned between the gas pumps and his vehicle, police said.

The driver, a black female sped away, on Allegheny Ave. with heavy damage to her car. The driver stopped her vehicle a short distance , got out and bent her license tag before driving off. That attempt to obscure her tag was futile as the car was recovered on the 3200 block of Tulip Street, unoccupied.

The male had two broken legs from the accident, which happened at 6:50 PM January 12, 2024.

The second incident happened January 13,2024 just before 6:00 AM when a black SUV, possibly a Porsche was north on Broad Street at Poplar when the driver hit a pedestrian, identified as Brian Howard Lloyd , 55 , from Philadelphia. He was hit with such force that he flew into the air and landed on another car. Police said that he was pronounced dead at 6:05 AM at the scene.

Police are combing the area looking for security camera footage dis disseminate , so assist them in finding the vehicle.
