UPDATE 8:45PM POLICE SAID THAT A FEMALE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR INVESTIGATION. SHE WAS ARRESTED AT A HOMELESS SHELTER IN WEST PHILADELPHIA. HER NAME IS NOT BEING RELEASED PENDING THE FILING OF CHARGES.
A female is wanted by Philadelphia Police for stabbing two people, one of them a child in a stroller. Officers called the attacks random and unrelated. No one was killed . Both attacks took place today.
The first was on the 1300 block of Chancellor Street . A 24 year old woman was minding her own business when she was stabbed for no reason. She was stabbed in the chest and finger. After being taken to Jefferson Hospital, she will be okay, officials said. This attack happened at 8:00 AM.
A one year old boy in 300 block of South 18th Street outside Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel synagogue was stabbed once when the female approached the parents who were pushing a stroller with both twins . The female tried to stab both but was only able to stab one, before who were in the same stroller.
The father chased the female who dropped her handbag. She got away but now police know who she is. The baby was stabbed once in the arm and is going to be fine. The attack had nothing to do with the Jewish faith,officials said.
The suspect is also wanted for a serious assault from New York City. Police did not ID the suspect publicly.
