Couple Wanted For Fraud After Bensalem Restaurant Theft

by Alex Lloyd Gross

On May 25, 2024 a woman was eating at the Cracker Barrel in Bensalem. As she dined, a couple had a table next to her and that table was occupied by an unidentified black male and black female. The male draped his jacket over a chair that was directly behind the female patron.

The female diner had apparently placed her purse on the chair that got covered with the jacket. The couple than pretended to have an emergency phone call, police said and left the restaurant. About a half hour later the woman got fraud alerts on her phone from her credit card providers, police said.

The victim then found her purse open and credit cards missing. One transaction was for $1500.00 in Visa Gift Cards at CVS Health. The actors were operating a blue Chevrolet Malibu bearing NJ paper registration 877785T.

Police warn diners to always be able to keep an eye on your purse or other belongings when dining out.
