LIVE! casino was fined $100,000 by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, after three employees of the sports book took wagers by telephone. The bets totaled $287,000 over an eight day period, officials said. These types of wagers are known as “proxy wagers” and are not permitted through policies
established by the casino and approved by the Board. In addition, the Pennsylvania Gaming Act specifically prohibits knowingly accepting a wager from any person other than the person making the wager.
The employees that took the bets were fired and their casino employment license was pulled as well. The patron that placed the bets was placed on an involuntary exclusion list and is no longer permitted to gamble in Pennsylvania.
The casino is located on Darien Street, at Packer Avenue in Philadelphia.
