Just who is Tim Walz? He was picked to be the Vice President Of the United States, should the current VP ascend to the Oval Office. Many in this region and across the country wanted PA Governor Josh Shapiro. He is young and he is energetic. He is full of spunk and now he will have to hang on and wait to move down to Washington.. He was not chosen to be the running mate. Privately, he may be pissed. He may be relieved. We will never know, but many people, including JD Vance, President Trump’s pick for VP said he had to hide from his religious beliefs. His being Jewish and his support for Israel may have played a part in him not getting chosen. That is the consensus among many Jews on social media.

A rally was held at the Liacouras Center in North Philadelphia yesterday. Thousands showed up. Democrats campaigning in Philadelphia is a waste of time. They will win in major cities. There was no one that showed up for this rally that had not made up their minds. One only has to remember the night before the elections in 2016 when Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama drew about 75,000 to the historic district of Philadelphia. For all that, Pennsylvania was won by Donald Trump the next day..
Josh Shapiro, walked out on stage, after Mayor Parker, and Senators Casey and Fetterman. He had to come on strong about not being bitter. “I am your governor and I enjoy being Governor of Pennsylvania”, he said, to rousing applause. It has to sting him a little bit walking back to the sign that said Harris Walz, when he name could have been there instead. Shapiro rallied for Walz and Harris. He lead the crowd in cheers against Donald Trump.
Harris and Walz came out together. Walz was touted for his military service and his accuracy in target shooting. “I am for the second amendment but we need responsible gun legislation”,he said. He, along with Harris is for raising the minimum wage. Currently it is $7.25/hr. Walz and Harris stand behind the Affordable Care Act, which they say Trump wants to dismantle. Should that happen, millions of people would lose their health insurance.
Watching Walz and comparing him to Shapiro would be like watching KISS and then seeing James Taylor. Walz was good but his passion and energy level waned when compared to Shapiro. Walz , on stage said he wants to debate JD Vance. Vance said he will debate him but only after he is confirmed as the running mate.
Vance , during remarks in South Philadelphia was not enthusiastic about Tim Walz. “Remember in 2020, he was Governor when he let rioters burn down Minneapolis, and Kamala Harris let those rioters go when she was a prosecutor in California”.
