Charles P. Casler, of Philadelphia is under arrest in Bucks County, after police said he allegedly tried to carjack a female as she was getting gas. The incident happened on August 14, 2024, just before 5:00 PM at the filling station at Street Road and Central Avenue. Casler arrived in a red Ford pick-up truck.
As a female was getting gas, police said Casler allegedly entered her vehicle and closed the door, sitting in the drivers seat. Casler was was unsuccessful with taking the vehicle as it was not running and she had the keys/key-fob with her and did not leave it in the vehicle. The male then exited the vehicle, pushing past her and re-entering the red Ford pick-up truck and fled the area.
In his attempt to flee, Casler drove in a reckless manner, causing many calls to come into the 911 dispatch center reporting the errant vehicle operation. Police found the car at Bridgetown Pike and Elmwood Avenue and the driver, after identified as Casler, resisted arrest.He was trying to get away on foot but was captured a short while later.
Following arrest he was found to be under the influence of narcotics and in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. Charles P. Casler was charged with the following offenses; Attempted Robbery of a motor vehicle, Attempted theft of a motor vehicle, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Public Drunkenness, Evading Arrest or Detention on foot, Possession of drugs and Drug Paraphernalia.
The investigation determined that Casler arrived in a Pick-up truck that was reported stolen from Philadelphia
