9/11 Memorial Service Held In Bucks County

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the day that deranged terrorists hijacked airplanes and flew them into the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and crashed in Shanksville Pa. Memorial services are held all across the country and in Bucks County, the Garden Of Reflection was the home of a significant service.

State Representative Perry Warren gave brief remarks as he read the names of those that were killed from this area. They are:

Michael A. Bane – Yardley Lorraine Bay – Langhorne James P. Berger – Lower Makefield Jeffrey M. Chairnoff – Lower Makefield Peter Chirchirillo – Langhorne William R. Godshalk – Lower Makefield Donald G. Havlish, Jr. – Yardley Donald W. Jones – Fairless Hills William H. Kelly, Jr. – Lower Makefield Joseph Lostrangio – Langhorne Louis Nacke – New Hope Joshua Reiss – Lower Makefield John Michael Rodak- Southampton-Victor Saracini – Yardley Larry Senko – Lower Makefield Barbara A. Shaw – Bensalem William Steiner – Lower Makefield Sandra Wright – Langhorne.

The ceremony, which lasted just over an hour, included a bell run to commemorate the lives lost and the moment it happened. It did not matter who was speaking or what was being said. The bell was rung. Then silence for a few seconds. The bell rang six times.

After the remarks were done, people were invited to walk along the fountains and read the names of those lost, as they were etched into glass.
