Governor and Lt. Governor Pay Visit To Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History

by Alex Lloyd Gross

US Senator Bob Casey joined PA Governor Josh Shapiro and Lt. Governor Austin Davis as they toured the NOVA exhibit on the one year anniversary of the Hamas massacre. It was one year ago that thousands of people converged at the NOVA festival in Israel to enjoy themselves. Then without warning, heavily armed cowards parachuted into the crowd and killed whoever they could see.

Women were raped, bodies set on fire and the only thing the people who died did was exist. This was an indiscriminate killing of people that just so happened to be in Israel, said Josh Shapiro.. He was in California when he saw the exhibit and helped to get it to Philadelphia for a limited engagement. It leaves after Sunday.

Sigal Manzuri is a mother who lost her daughters at the concert spoke briefly about her daughters experience at the festival. She spoke clutching a photo of her daughters.

Inside the exhibit, there is a video playing on a loop of a coward shooting at portable toilets where people had run to seek shelter. In the video you can hear another terrorist call to him, his name was Mohamed. He was told to cease fire and then called a jackass when he did not.

The exhibit is free to see and should be seen by everyone. Just after the governors visit, a private school in New Jersey had some Jewish students take a field trip to see the exhibit. The students, all of who were teenagers were visibly touched by what they saw.

“Thank you to the Weitzman Museum for the honor of being here on this day of remembrance, reflection, and recommitment. We must ensure we are doing everything possible to confront evil in the world – whether it’s the evil of terrorism or the darkness in the human heart – both of which were tragically on full display in the most horrific way on October 7, 2023,” said Senator Casey. “Whether it’s the evil of Hamas, other terrorist organizations in the Middle East, or the Iranian regime, we must confront and defeat that evil. I also want to thank the Governor and the First Lady for bringing us together today.”

After viewing the installation earlier this year, Governor Shapiro worked to bring the exhibition t the Weitzman Museum in honor of the one-year anniversary of the terror attack on Israel. Governor Shapiro visits the museum often and was sworn into office on a Bible from its collection.
