On April 13 2023, there was a fatal shooting on the 2200 block of Montgomery Avenue.A 16-year-old male, identified as Nafis Betrand- Hill, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The police promptly transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries at 9:13 p.m.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, along with eleven spent 9mm casings and twenty spent .40 caliber casings.
Police just announced that 20 year old Zaakir McClendon was arrested for this murder. Police said they picked up McClendon on the 5700 block of Torresdale Ave. He was charged with murder, and weapons offenses. police did not give a motive for the killing.
