by Alex Lloyd Gross

It was just before 8:00 AM when Kelvin Williams was driving a 2002 Ford pick-up truck. As he was north on the Roosevelt Boulevard at Adams Ave., a newer-model black SUV, initially believed to be a Dodge Durango but now thought more likely to be a Jeep Grand Cherokee, lost control and struck a 2002 Ford F-150. The collision caused the truck to overturn.

Williams, of the 2600 North 23rd Street, was partially ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. Two passengers, ages 52 and 75, were transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where they are listed in stable condition.

According to reports,Williams married his high school sweetheart in 2014.

The suspect vehicle, described as having heavily tinted windows and a tinted license plate cover, fled the scene following the crash. The driver and registered owner have not yet been identified. There are cameras all over the region. Police went searching for those cameras that were in the direction of travel and uncovered footage of what they believe to be the vehicle.
