It was on May 30 2023, when Sammar Khan and her husband, Faisal Iqbal were at the Wharf in Bristol Borough. They were talking and then they suddenly started to argue loudly. That is when Khan pulled out a gun and shot Iqbal multiple times. As Igbal fell to the ground, Khan shot him twice in the torso and one time in the head.
She entered a guilty plea in July, to Third Degree Murder and was sentenced yesterday to serve 10-30 years in prison. She claimed to be a victim of doestic violence, which was not contested in court. Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristin M. McElroy addressed the court on the issue, stating that the prosecution was not contesting the existence of domestic violence in the relationship. However, McElroy argued that the alleged abuse did not justify Khan’s actions that day.

Khan also pleaded guilty to possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person. On that day in May, police cordoned part of the wharf with crime scene tape. A large police presence was there which piqued the curiosity of many onlookers who could not believe what had happened.
It was not disclosed what the two were arguing about, just before the murder took place.
