Officials raced to the 300 block of Dorrance Street in Bristol Borough earlier tonight to battle a three alarm fire that consumed two dwellings of a duplex. When the first fire crews got to the scene, they went in service with deck guns and heavy water lines. The structure next door, another duplex was in danger of catching fire. The fire started about 6:10PM, officials said.
Officials at the scene confirmed one person died from the fire. No further information was released on that. As more fire trucks raced to the scene, streets surrounding the scene were closed. Smaller streets were choked with apparatus, making through traffic impossible.
The cause of the fire is under investigation , Fire companies from Bensalem, Middletown as well as Bristol Township and Falls were called directly to the scene or to cover other firehouses.
