Storage Unit In Middletown Searched By FBI Related To Terrorism Suspects

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Federal Agents were at the Public Storage Facility on Flowers Mill Road, in Middletown Twp. this afternoon. They were searching for items that could be used in bomb making after Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi were arrested in NYC when they allegedly threw Improvised Explosive Devices or IED’s at people during a protest.

The FBI conducted two raids on houses on Tina Drive and Clymer Drive to find evidence relating to the two terror suspects. It is surmised that during those raids, they got information about the storage unit and went there with a search warrant this afternoon.

It is unknown what, if anything was found inside the unit. Agents were seen going around to the right side of the building. There were several SUV type vehicles parked in front of the storage facility. At least 10 news vehicles were parked at one time or another across the street.

Bilat and Kayumi are both charged in federal court with transporting explosives, providing material support to ISIS and related offenses.
