Salahudin Reddy, aka “Dean” and “Deen,” 39, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, will get to call a federal prison his home for the next seven years and 10 months for taking part in multiple cargo thefts in the Philadelphia area a few years ago.
The estimated haul of stolen goods from January 1 2023 through July 31,2023,is over $1.5 million, authorities said. Reddy stole crab legs, televisions and over $230,000 in dimes from an unlocked truck at Franklin Mills. He entered a guilty plead in March of this year, authorities said.
His guilty plea was for conspiracy, four counts of theft from an interstate shipment, one count of theft of government money, one count of possession of stolen government money, and one count of possession of items from interstate shipment theft.
While a trailer was unattended overnight, or while the driver was asleep, the members of the conspiracy participating in the theft would use bolt cutters and other tools to break into the trailer and steal the goods inside. The members of the conspiracy would then offer the goods for sale to local contacts. At least 10 different companies fell victim to these thefts, authorities said.
