15 year old Zakah Johnson was arrested inside a Juvenile Justice Center and charged with murder. Police said that on July 7 at about 10:15PM he was on the1000 block of Ithan Street when he is alleged to have shot a male, identified as 43-year-old MD Mahfuzul Haque of 7700 Fayette Street in the back of his head.
Police looked at security camera footage and other kinds of evidence. They tracked down Johnson, who was already in jail for an unrelated crime. Just hours before he was supposed to be released, Johnson was told he was going to be staying in custody.
He was charged with murder and related offenses, police said.
