On September 10, 2026, at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to an assist call involving an off-duty Philadelphia police officer on the 700 block of North 10th St. who had been assaulted and robbed of his firearm. Preliminary investigation reveals the off-duty officer involved in an altercation during which he was physically assaulted by multiple individuals and his firearm was taken.
The off-duty officer sustained lacerations to his head and abrasions to his legs and feet. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
During the course of the investigation, officers identified several individuals believed to have been involved in the incident. They were taken into custody for further investigation with Central Detectives. No information regarding charges is available for release at this time.
The firearm has not been recovered at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing with Central Detectives.
