Students from St. Mark Catholic School graduated from the Bristol Borough Police Department’s Dare Program a release from the public safety agency said Thursday.
The program was conducted with the schools sixth grade class by Sgt. Carlos Rivera.
Mayor Joseph Saxton , Judge Frank Paranteau Sr. and Chief Henry, were on hand for the convocation ceremony.
As part of the program, students participated in an essay writing competition discussing the dangers of drugs and the consequences of poor choices, officials say.
Sophia Callan was declared the winner of the essay contest, although it was a “difficult decision,” sources say.
The Bristol Borough PBA and the Grundy Foundation provided gift bags to the graduating class, according to the press release.
