Bucks DA: Philly Man Arrested with 590 Bags of Heroin in Sting Operation

The Bucks County District Attorney;s Office announced Wednesday morning is had arrested a man with 600 bags of heroin and other drugs in his pants according  to a press release.

Charles Shaw, 44, was charged last week with multiple felony counts of possession with intent to distributed a controlled substance and related offenses following a joint investigation from the Bedminster Township Police Department and Bucks County Detectives.

The investigative team, according to authorities,  initiated during  the first two wees of June, made controlled purchases of suspected heroin from Shaw, who authorities say was also selling methamphetamine and cocaine throughput Bucks County.

“Forty bags of heroin were seized as a result of the purchases. Through further investigation, police also determined Shaw had used a residence in the 3600 block of Bedminster Road, Bedminster, ” said the DA’s Office in a release.

Authorities believing Shaw had just left the Bedminster residence, stopped Shaw’s vehicle Saturday along Route 113 in Bedminster Township.

Police said while taking Shaw into custody, detectives noticed a bulge in the crotch area of Shaw’s pants. The bulge was found to be two large black bags containing;

-590 bags of suspected heroin,

-Seven bags of suspected crystal methamphetamine,

Seven bags of cocaine,

-10 suspected oxycodone pills and

-11 buprenorphine pills.

Bensalem District Judge Michael W. Gallagher arraigned Shaw charges Saturday and set bail at 10 percent  of $200K

Shaw’s preliminary hearing is set for June 24 in front of Gallagher, court documents show.

Plumstead Township Police, Tinicum Township Police, Falls Township Police and Hilltown Township Police assisted in the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Laurie Moore has been assigned to prosecution, the release says.
