Jeff Bohen – Digital Reporter

As enhanced Labor Day weekend patrols launched into action on Saturday night Yardley Borough Police arrested a 34- year-old Lancaster County as they found him asleep at the wheel and allegedly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, authorities say.

According to authorities, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Yardley Borough police spotted a Ford Truck with the  driver “…slumped over the wheel,” on the 40 block of South Main Street with the vehicle running.

Police approached the motorist, who was initially unresponsive, observed he had his foot on the brake, woke him up,  and as a result of further investigation concluded  the man was operating under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs.

The as yet unnamed suspect, was arrested and charged with DUI offenses. He was processed and released as the matter is pending a preliminary hearing court date.

Through a review of county court records this publication was unable to determine the identity of the man arrested.
