Philadelphia Police named 28 year old Jeffrione Thomas, of the 7800 block of Fayette Street as one of two suspects wanted for firing a gun into a car containing three Philadelphia Police Officers.
The incident happened last night, September 18, 2020, on the 1400 block of Sharpnack Street. Reports were three plainclothes cops were in a vehicle and Thomas rode by on his bicycle. When one of the officers rolled down the window to check on his well being, Thoams is alleged to have pulled out a pistol and fired several shots at the officers, while they sat in their car.
As that was happening, officers found themselves under attack by a second gunman. When the dust settled, the officer that was driving sustained a gunshot wound that was stopped by the officers vest. That officer is in stable condition. A female officer had an injured leg, presumably from shattered glass. The third officer was not injured at all.
The Fraternal Order of Police has issued a $5000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Thomas or information of the second shooter. Thomas is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 170 lbs.
