The Shine Of Czestochowa as it is referred to actually a lot closer to Philly than people think. It can be reached in about 40-45 minutes and it’s worth the drive. Why? This weekend and next weekend, it will host one of the largest outdoor festivals in this region. The Polish Festival.

Parking is free and plentiful in any of the parking lots. Dozens of vendors selling Polish gifts, clothing and trinkets.. Of course, there are a few obligatory vendors that show up at every convention and arts festival, but for the most part it’s all about Polish pride.
There are no less than two dozen carnival attractions, from rides that are for children to those that might scare bigger kids. A haunted house to a tornado or spinning top. The rides can be paid for in cash, Paypal of Venmo. If you walk a bit deeper into the fair grounds, you will find the food area.

Chicken Tenders to platters with Polish food, it’s all there. It does not cost an arm and a leg, either. One of the best deals is a BBQ Chicken dinner with two sides and corn, that will set you back $12.00. It’s a steal. This is a great way to spend a few hours and it’s not far.

Admission to this fair is $15.00. Go early to avoid lines. Be prepared to spend several hours walking around talking to people, everyone is friendly . Many people will have conversations in Polish. There are reenactors from wars fought in Poland many years ago. They have set up tents and have outdoor fires of which to cook their food. They will be happy to teach about history.
