Former President Donald Trump paid a visit to the McDonald’s on Street Road, in Feasterville on Sunday. October 20,2024.Now the store has to hire armed security to patrol the lot and the dining area after threatening comments were made.
The franchise owner Derek Giacomantoinio got backlash for his stance on the minimum wage issue when it was discovered that he previously wrote letters to government officials opposing it being raised. Currently, it sits at $7.25/hr. While thousands of people stood outside of the McDonald’s, hoping to get a view of the former president, not everyone was happy he was here.
Yelp has shut down reviews for this location, after people tried to post bad reviews. When asked why the security was there, on guard simply stated to “deter anything and keep the peace”. This McDonald’s did not have any security patrols before Trump’s visit. No one from McDonald’s would comment.
Trump was on the property for about 30 minutes, serving French Fries to pre selected supporters. He held a photo op and the restaurant was the stage. Even the campaign came out and said so, on a Tik-Tok . video.
Several people have taken to social media to praise Trump for this visit, even joking that “He fixed the ice cream machine” or he wound up employee of the month. Others have blasted him calling the visit a fraud and saying he could not be hired due to his criminal convictions.
The Trump visit has pushed the minimum wage issue back to center stage. When asked how much he was getting paid, he joked “Not enough, I need more money”, Workers are saying that for real as many businesses across the country pay a smidgen over $7.25/hr . Kamala Harris has vowed to raise the wage, while Trump has not.

In the PA Senate race, Senator Casey has repeatedly said he will raise the wage, while Dave McCormick has stated “I want all wages to go up, and then (falsely) said that because bordering states have higher wages, workers in PA are getting paid more. Some might not get $7.25/hr. but they are making less than $10.00/hr. A worker doing the same job just over the river in NJ gets $15.13./hr. “I’m skeptical about setting a new minimum wage because I don’t think that is the way to get good jobs”. he said after getting an endorsement from the firefighters union.
