Three teenagers were shot in a fight with another with yesterday afternoon near the ice skating rink by city hall. This happened about 4:30 PM. According to police, there was an altercation and another male, presumably a teenager, pulled a gun and fired multiple shots.
One 14 year old boy was shot in the face at close range and is very critical condition, police said. One male was shot once in his leg and is in stable condition. Police initially thought there were only two victims. One youth went to Children s Hospital of Philadelphia by his mother. He was was shot in the leg as well and is in stable condition.
Police called the shooting “inexcusable”. The shooting happened just feet away from vendors at Christmas Village . After the shooting, many vendors closed. The skating rink was closed for the duration of the night.
It is unknown if all of the victims were involved in the initial altercation, or if any were innocent bystanders. Police were nearby and made one arrest of what appeared to be a juvenile . He is not charged as of yet. It is unknown if he will be charged as an adult or a juvenile.
