Messihia Manning of North 55th Street in Philadelphia was employed as a floor cleaner for a company that services major retailers like Wal-Mart. Manning, somehow got a hold of a debit card belonging to an Oregon Resident. That resident soon began to see charges from different Wal-Mart locations in Warrington, Glenolden and Northeast Philadelphia.
The victim contacted Warrington Police, who initiated an investigation and found security camera footage of the male who used the card. This male arrived in a clearly marked work van and was dressed to clean stores, complete with a yellow vest.
Police tracked the van, contacted the company and then sent the regional manager a security image of the male in the photo. This manager confirmed that Manning was the male in the photo. This manager also confirmed that GPS locator in the van showed Manning visiting the stores that the card was used in, before taking the van back to his west Philadelphia house.
He also made a $5.00 purchase at a Warrington Dollar Tree. Police said that Manning used the card until the balance was $0.00. When contacted by police, he was told that he had a warrant out for his arrest. Manning then turned himself in and is facing multiple felonies for access device fraud and related offenses.
Police said that over $2500.00 in unauthorized purchases were made using that card. Manning was released on $50,000 unsecured bail. Court documents did not disclose how Manning got the debit card information.
