The snow started to fall after 3:00 AM early this morning. By 7:00 AM several inches fell and stuck to area streets and sidewalks. By 11:00 AM people thought it was over and some got out their shovels. They were too early as round two was just getting started.
A coat of ice is now laying on sidewalks and streets. Even with the best intentions and efforts of plowing operators, there are slick spots that will cause accidents and falls. That being said, most schools in thei area are either off or are virtual for Monday, Tuesday has not yet been decided.
This is the same for government buildings and courts. Bail acceptance and Protection orders are still open. Essential workers, police and fire, hospital and prison workers should report to work as usual, unless instructed otherwise.
Should you venture out tomorrow, expect most stores to be closed or opening later in the afternoon. The snow was scenic and made for some good photos. Children will love it if they live near a hill. Just make sure the bottom of the hill is not near traffic.
