Larry Krasner Gets Into A Spat With Jim Jordan Over ICE Policy

by Alex Lloyd Gross

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan is not happy about Philadelphia being a sanctuary city. Jordan alleges that Larry Krasner is making Philadelphia unsafe because of his policies. The Ohio legislator filed a letter and sent a copy to Krasner requesting his response, as well as certain specified documents.

Krasner held a press conference this week and laid out part of his answer. “I’m calling for a public hearing on this. I want this to be transparent,” Krasner said. He further taunted Jordan by saying that if the hearing was closed to the public, he wanted it videotaped so he “can leak it.”

“Jordan will get the information that is reasonably available and legally appropriate.” He did not say what those documents were, but Krasner did say it was a request, not a subpoena. Krasner said his office will be asking for documents as well. You can read that letter here.

During the press conference, Krasner displayed photos of President Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein and talked about Jordan’s own problems involving allegations that he covered up sex abuse claims when he was a wrestling coach.

Krasner said he is available to meet with Jordan and his committee “next week, or the week after that,” alluding to the fact that there are many weeks before the general election during which Krasner could meet with Jordan.

Krasner was given until 5:00 PM May 18, 2026 to turn over the documents requested.
