PennDOT Lane closures throughout Lower Bucks this Week.

The following is a combination of two press releases from PennDOT
Staff
Lane closures will be in place at night next week in each direction on U.S. 1 and Street Road (Route 132) in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, for various construction activities on a project to widen and improve U.S.1 and reconstruct the interchange at Street Road (Route 132), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
On Monday, May 13, through Saturday, May 18, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, northbound and southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway, and Street Road (Route 132) will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
This corridor improvement project is the first of three construction contracts to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough. Additionally Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 motorists in Bucks County will encounter moving lane closures in both directions between the Academy Road and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges on Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for pavement marking installation on a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of the interstates in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County.
James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $29,522,204 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
