The World Series is being played in Philadelphia. For three games, the Phillies will host the Houston Astros in the best of series, which is split at one game for each team.

Major League Baseball executives announced that they were donating $50,000 to the Philadelphia Police Athletic League. This money will be used for the PAL  center on Clearfield Street.  An E Gaming Room is going to be built.

With X-Box consoles, gaming chairs and computer set ups, doing this is not going to be cheap. It is going to give children in a working class neighborhood an option of doing what they want to do that is fun, as opposed to getting into trouble.

David Buck is on the board of PAL. He is also the Executive Vice President for the Phillies organization. “I had no idea that PAL was being considered for this”, he said. It was only after the money and recipient was announced that he let on that he was on the board.

At the announcement today held on the second floor of the center was the Phillie Phanatic and Cole Hamels. He was the pitcher that helped the Phillies win the 2008 World Series.

Fans that are lucky enough to procure tickets to the game will get souvenir rally towels upon entry to each game. Lines at the Pro Shop for the Phillies are long and fans are waiting in excess of an hour to get inside.
