At a press conference today in Doylestown, Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan formally announced that murder charges have been lodged against Kevin Carl Castiglia, a 55 year old male that confessed to police he killed his elderly parents and his sister earlier this week.on January 26, 2026. The case started with a welfare check, from the boyfriend of Deborah Castiglia who had not had contact with her for a few days. He went to her residence an she was not there so he went to her parents place on Heather Road in Northampton . Her car was there but there was no answer at the door.

Police said the boyfriend went back the next day and spoke with Kevin who told him that Debbie might have gone on vacation. Kevin Castiglia then pulled a large knife and threatened to kill the boyfriend if he ever came back. The boyfriend then called police and Castiglia is alleged to have answered the door for police with two knives and threatened to kill officers.
According to Khan, a SWAT team was called in and spent five hours negotiating with Castiglia, who stayed in an upstairs bedroom for five hours. Police used tear gas and a taser which were useless. Instead of shooting Kevin Castiglia, officers decided to wait him out but five hours later, they force ably took him into custody, without injury to police or Castiglia. They took him to a hospital to be checked by doctors then back to the Northampton Twp. Police station,where he confessed to police.
Officers found the bodies of his parents, Fred and Judith Castiglia in a bedroom. They had been murdered in their sleep, stabbed repeatedly, police said. When his sister, Debbie found her parents murdered, Kevin Castiglia confessed that he killed her as well,using a knife.

At the press conference, Khan said his office opposed any bail and Castiglia is held in the Bucks County Prison. No one from the DA;s office would comment on any prior contact Kevin Castiglia may have had with law enforcement. A motive for the killings was not released.
