Belligerent Yardley Man tells Police ‘I’ll blow your F**king Brains Out’ during Investigation
Digital Reporter – Jeff Bohen
Lower Makefield Police arrested a 57 year-old Yardley man who reportedly threatened to “kill police” while investigating reports he allegedly entered the yard of a private residence and had attempted to enter a local residence.
Christopher Mattilia was charged with defiant trespass, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia Sunday night for his multiple contacts with police in a one-day span.
Police sasy the were called shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of Barn Drive for a report of a suspicious white male in the backyard of a homeowner. Lower Makefield officers arrived on scene but the suspect had left the area, court documents show.
Police were then dispatched the 80 block of Sutphin Pines, the following morning, at around 6:20 a.m., for a report of a white male trying to enter a residence through the front door.
Police made contact with the subject who they identified as Mattilia. Police say, the man “alarmed” neighbors while they interviewed him because was “screaming” at police. Mattila allegedly told officers he would kill them and subsequently was charged for disorderly conduct but was warned to cease threatening officers or he would be face additional charges, the probable cause affidavit says.
Police transported Mattila to his friends house where he was released with a summary offense for disorderly practices, police say, but officers would have another contact with him, a little more than three hours later the suspect returned to the 500 block of Barn Dr to escalate matters further, according to court records
Lower Makefield Police returned to the area of the originating suspicious subject report to discover Mattila had entered a fenced in backyard again, court documents say.
Police had to reach over the fence to unlock it in order to enter the yard and in doing so observed suspect standing in the center of area. As police approached, Mattila started screaming, “don’t f**kig touch me. If you touch me I’ll f**king kill you. You’re all f**king dead. I’ll blow all your brains out. How do you want to die? I’ll shoot all you cops in the head,” police wrote in court documents.
Police detained the belligerent man for safety purposes and while doing so observed a thin, straight, hollow, glass tube with residue on the inside with a burnt end, in Mattila’s front shirt pocket police allege.
Officers removed the object and observed one end of the tube had steel wool inside of it, which is indicative of the tube being used to smoke crack cocaine, police said.
Police placed Mattila under arrest for the offenses noted above, the suspect once again threatened officers with an obscenity laded verbal attack threatening to kill authorities again.
District Justice Robert L Wagner, arraigned Mattila and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $250, 000. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on October 23.
Editor’s Note: Please note in an earlier version of this story I incorrectly had Mr Mattila’s published age wrong. He turned 58 this past September.
Apologies for the mistake. –JB
