Firefighters Extinguish Police In Charity Softball Game For Bucks Heroes Fund.
by Dan Doyle,

It was a hot night on the field—and not just because of the weather—as Newtown Township Fire Rescue “extinguished” the Newtown Township Police Department with a dramatic 19-16 victory in a charity softball game Friday evening. The showdown, played at the Newtown Middle School Field, wasn’t just about hometown bragging rights. It served a greater purpose: raising funds for the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund. www.buckscountyheroes.com
The family-friendly event brought out a large crowd of supporters, local officials, and first responder families. The real action was on the diamond—where both departments brought serious heat.
The game was a back-and-forth slugfest from the first pitch, with the score knotted at 16 heading into the final inning. That’s when the Firefighters stepped up with a towering three-run home run over left field, sealing the Fire Department’s victory and igniting cheers from the stands.

The Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund provides critical educational support to the children of fallen or permanently disabled police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and correctional officers. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and sponsors, the event helped raise much needed funds for a great cause! The departments are already planning next year’s rematch—with both sides vowing to bring even more heat.
