by Dan Doyle
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a brutal shooting that occurred in the city’s 24th District last week.
On April 23, 2025, surveillance footage captured a chilling sequence of events involving a 27-year-old male victim who was followed off SEPTA Bus 7423 and gunned down on the 3900 block of “M” Street. The attack left the victim in critical condition.

According to authorities, the suspect exited the bus when it reached its stop, the suspect followed the victim and, moments later, shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene. Private security cameras in the neighborhood corroborated footage from the SEPTA surveillance footage and helped police piece together the suspect’s movements. You can see in the above video he was unmasked for a while on the train.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build and long dreadlocks. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a black balaclava-style face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt featuring a large skull logo on the chest, black sweatpants, black Nike shoes with a white swoosh, and was carrying a black backpack.

The Philadelphia Police Department has released video evidence in hopes the public can help identify the shooter.
