NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A juvenile has been charged in connection with an Oct. 1, 2025 “swatting” incident that sent Council Rock High School into lockdown and triggered a major police response, officials announced this week.

The incident began at 1:42 p.m. when an anonymous 911 caller falsely reported a crisis at the school. Northampton Township Police, school security, district administrators, and officers from Newtown and Lower Southampton quickly responded. As a precaution, Council Rock North also increased security and saw a significant police presence.

A full sweep confirmed there was no credible threat, but the hoax caused major disruption across the district.

Following a joint investigation by Northampton Police, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, and the FBI, a juvenile suspect was identified and charged. Because of their age, no further details are being released.

District Attorney Jennifer Schorn condemned the swatting, saying false threats waste critical resources and heighten real fears of school violence. She praised the strong cooperation among local and federal law-enforcement agencies in resolving the case.
