Sunday, September 15, 2019 . Just after 1:00 PM a tractor trailer carrying car batteries has overturned on the ramp to the Pennsylvania Turnpike from Route 1 north. There were no other vehicles involved in the wreck and the driver sustained a very minor injury. The truck was hauling car batteries when the crash happened. They have to be manually off loaded and put onto another transport, before the truck can be up righted and towed away.
It is quite possible that this incident will result in the lanes being closed for upwards of five hours or more. Currently, drivers can exit from the turnpike onto Route 1 but that could change, depending on the configuration needed to position tow trucks to work.
