Power and Thief Knocked Out in Northeast Philadelphia
By Alex Lloyd Gross
Unless you are working security, there is no reason to be on a construction site at 2:30 AM. That did not stop a 30 year old male who apparently thought it would be easy to rip some copper wire out of a construction site where the old Nabisco plant once stood, at Byberry and Roosevelt Blvd. The incident happened about 2:40 AM on the morning of September 23, 2019.
As the hapless thief was starting to pull wire, it did not cross his mind that the power may be on. He was electrocuted and suffered serious burns. He had to be removed from the site by ambulance. Power was disrupted to thousands of homes in the area. The construction site is protected by a fence that cordons off the area.
