Man Killed In Whittaker Ave Hit and Run

Police in Philadelphia are looking at security video in the area of 4800 Whittaker Avenue. It was just before 6:00PM when a male was crossing the street and he was hit by a white van, which was going north on Whittaker Ave, police said. They hope to track the vehicle involved.
The driver of the van did not stop and kept going in his original direction of travel. The male, who had no identification on him was taken to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:28 PM.
The 4800 block of Whittaker was closed to traffic for the investigation for close to three hours for the investigation.
