Bucks County Woman Will Die In Prison For Killing Her Two Children
by Alex Lloyd Gross
Trinh T. Nguyen is going to die in prison. She shot and killed both of her sons during a rage filled morning on May 2, 2022. She shot them while they were in their beds and then attempted to shoot a neighbor. That neighbor, who was also a relative was able to disarm her when the gun jammed. Nguyen, however, was able to flee. This set off a county wide search that put several places in Upper Makefield and Newtown on lock down, as authorities tracked her whereabouts.
Yesterday, she entered a guilty plea that resulted in two life sentences that will run consecutively. She will also do 10 to 20 years on the attempted murder charge. The motive for the killing? Nguyen was angry that she was going to be evicted from her home on Timber Ridge Road.
After the shooting she got into her mini van and drove to New Jersey to buy Heroin. She then drove back into PA and parked herself in the minivan at the United Methodist Church in Washington’s Crossing. Inside the van was a note, several bags of heroin and ammunition. The note which was on the passenger side dash read as follows:
“Please call 911! My children are Dead in their bed at 119 Timber Ridge Rd 18940” Detectives also served a search warrant at the Nguyen residence, locating and seizing a handwritten will dated April 25, 2022 – a week before the shooting – that instructed the recipient on what to do with her ashes and the ashes of her sons. The will was signed, “TRINH NGUYEN.”
The negotiated plea and sentence “Will ensure that the defendant will die within the four walls of a correctional facility” for her unfathomable actions, First Assistant District Attorney Jen Schorn said following the hearing.
Women in the state prison system do not take kindly to other inmates that harm children, as many are in the prison system and away from their own children.
