by Alex Lloyd Gross

Some people will do anything to avoid getting arrested for stealing. Including abandoning their three month old infant when approached by store security. That is precisely what happened late last night at the Wal-Mart location at the Philadelphia Mills( Formerly Franklin Mills) Mall.

It was just after 11:00 PM last nights when store security stopped two black males and a white female for stealing. They had a three month old little girl with them. The trio ran from the store, when approached for stealing, leaving the child behind.

The child was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where she was listen in good condition. Police have video of the incident that they have yet to release. They are not sure who the parents are, if they were involved in the theft or not. The infant is going to be taken by Department of Human Services , pending the identity of the parents.

It is the policy of District Attorney Larry Krasner to not prosecute for retail theft.of smaller amounts. It is also the policy of DHS to reunite children with family members, whenever possible,The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone with information about this incident to contact the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3260, submit a tip anonymously through the PPD’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477), or dial 911
