It is never fun when a major interstate has to close for construction, or any other purpose. The best thing is to give people advance notice and for people to keep away. So starting today about 5:00 PM and lasting through Monday I-95 will close from Columbus Boulevard through center city. in the northbound lanes. South could be backed up as well.
Construction is going to build support arches for a new project on 676 to connect that to areas in center city, officials said. Surface streets like Columbus Boulevard and Delaware Avenue are expected to be jammed.
Motorists that have to travel this road should give themselves plenty of time and expect delays. I-76 and Route 130 in New Jersey could be a good alternative, but you will pay a bridge toll.
