Thousands In This Region Catch Glimpse Of the Eclipse

Many saw some of the eclipse . Many more missed out, due to cloud cover. The day started out nice with very little cloud cover in this region. By about 1:30 PM things started to cloud up. This made those with hopes and plans to see the eclipse very uneasy.
By 3:00 PM, about 20 people showed up at the Bensalem Township complex. There is an open field with very few obstructions like trees or buildings, The only obstruction was a series of clouds, By 3:00 PM those that gathered to watch the celestial event got a break. For about 30 minutes, the clouds parted and the eclipse was seen.
Potions of Northeast Philadelphia and South Jersey got to see some of the eclipse. Those in the northern part of the state did not. This was an event to show children. Many put off getting their glasses until the day before. Many libraries in the region had them to give out.

Just like in 2017, the library in Bristol Borough had an eclipse program where people could learn about space and go out back to view the eclipse. They were giving out free glasses on a first come first served basis.
The Delaware Valley was not in the total eclipse zone. For that, you had to travel to Erie Pa, or Ohio or even upstate New York, for example. Many took a chance on the weather and went. For most of us, what we saw ( or tried to see) was cool enough.
