Traffic Mess On Street Road In Bensalem

Motorists on Street Road in Bensalem, going west towards Southampton had a lane restriction and delays in the area of Mechanicsville Road today. It was just after 6:15AM when a car went out of control and slammed into a traffic light standard.
The light fell into the street and knocked out power to the entire intersection. One lane is blocked but traffic is being directed by Penndot and fire police. The lights will be out for a few hours until repairs can be made.
The driver of the car told authorities he fell asleep and was not inured. No other vehicles were involved .
