Jim Florentine Brings Laughs To Glenside This Weekend

In light of recent events, people need a good laugh and Jim Florentine , a comedian, is going to be at the Keswick Theater in Glenside Friday night, July 19, 2024.
This is the same guy that plays all of the killer classic hard rock on Ozzy’s Boneyard, on Sirius XM. “I won’t be talking much about that during my show because people know me from “That Metal Show” and his music acumen but others know him from his acting stints, on Crank Yankers or Trainwreck..
As for his radio show, Florentine does not play hits. “That’s the only way I agreed to take the job, i want to come p with my own play list and they said fine, as long as it fits the format.”, Florentine said. Songs like Crazy Train or You Shook Me All Night Long will cause him to change the station. They are over played.
In this day and age, people are offended by just about anything. Those people will be triggered at Florentine’s show and according to him, they stay away. ” It’s a no apologies tour so we say what we say and hopefully you will have a good time.”, Florentine said.
People that come to the show want to hear him push buttons, but he stays away from politics and religion. My gigs got canceled in Seattle a couple of months ago, I got booked at a club and a few weeks later they said their progressive values don’t align with my stand up comedy. I laughed at it and you know what, I got booked in seven other places near there just because of that,” Florentine said.
While he is edgy he knows that he is probably going to offend someone, like the time a woman came up to him after his show. Florentine was talking about his divorce and unknown to him, this woman was going through her own divorce and “she came up to me and said I ruined her night. how Is that my fault, do we have to do a survey before the show,” Florentine laughed.
Florentine grew up going to catholic school and he may talk about that. “Everyone says the good kids went to Catholic School and the bad kids went to public school but for us it was the opposite,” he said.
