Senior Citizen Surrenders In North Philadelphia Murder

Philadelphia Police announced today that Jerome Edens, 67, of the 900 block of West Sterner Street surrendered to police in the murder of Rasheeda Lane, of the 1200 block of West Allegheny. Avenue. Lane was shot to death on the 2100 block of North Camac Street on July 9, 2024 at 9:54 PM.

When police arrived, they found Lane laying on the highway , shot multiple times. She was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:54 PM, police said.

Sterner turned himself in on July 16,2024. He was charged with Murder, and multiple gun charges. Police said he did not have a permit for the gun.

  1. While all the teen and young male shootings are rampant these days, the less frequent older ones just add more substance to the reputation of that community.
    Sad, but true, you cannot deny the facts.
    And not surprisingly an UN-registered gun was part of the story.

    And this will continue unless a pro-active line of invesigations is enacted by Law Enforcement Officials.
    Digging deeper into any suspicious activities, home searches, and rap sheets, is a possible solution to this ongoing safety problem.
    But, as I mentioned, it will go on unless it’s nipped in the bud.
