Bucks County Foundation Launches Pet Contest
Warminster, Pa. – Do you think you have the cutest pet? How about the funniest pet? The Centennial Education Foundation (CEF) has launched their first Pawsome Pet Contest.
“We are excited to bring a fun and different contest to our community,” said Max Weintraub, foundation President. “While we enjoy showing off our students and the great things they’ve accomplished, we get a chance to show off our local pets. It’s a great opportunity for us to get members of our community involved in something new!”
The fundraiser contest kicked off on July 22nd, with the residents of Bucks County and communities beyond, creating a free entry for their pets on the contest website. Then beginning August 15th, open voting will begin and progress into a bracket voting format where friends, family, and neighbors will take part in casting their votes via donations.
The funds raised from the contest will directly support grants that teachers in the Centennial School District apply for and boost unique learning programs that tax dollars do not fund for students. For instance, in May, first graders at McDonald Elementary School participated in The Monster Project, where they drew cute monsters. Students in Klinger Middle School Consumer Science classes were selected to create and sew stuffed monsters based on the children’s drawings. This collaboration resulted in lots of smiles from all the students when the secret monsters were revealed and became a significant experience for all involved.
The Top 12 pets who receive the most votes by September 30th will then be featured on a 2025 CEF Pawsome Pets printed calendar. In addition, the top three pets will be awarded prize packs at the end of the contest. Contest sponsors include Tranquility Brewing, Petsies, and Neater Pets.
Jennifer Schultz, Executive Director shared, “Who hasn’t bought a kitten calendar and thought – my cat could be in here? Entering the contest is the chance for your pet to shine and you’ll also be supporting a great cause.”
The Centennial School District is made up of Davis Elementary, McDonald Elementary, Willow Dale Elementary, Log College Middle School, Klinger Middle School, and William Tennent High School and serves over five thousand students in Central Bucks County.
