Male That Stabbed Philly Park Ranger Charged With Multiple Felonies

Thomas Riceman from the 3900 block of Chestnut Street. Riceman is facing charges of Attempted Murder – First Degree, Aggravated Assault, Ethnic Intimidation, Terroristic Threats, and related offenses, after he deliberately stabbed a Philadelphia Park Ranger during the afternoon of September 1, 2024., police said.
Officials said the ranger was working at Rittenhouse Square, inside the park near 18th and Walnut Streets, when Riceman entered the guard booth and laid down. He was told to leave and instead he told the ranger to “Go back to your country” and then stabbed the ranger with scissors multiple times .
Even though he was stabbed, the ranger was able to handcuff Riceman and hold him until police arrival.
