Two Porch Pirates Busted In Langhorne

Middletown Police got word from a phone carrier that several expensive phones were being delivered to different addresses in the township. They provided police with the tracking numbers and police then deployed detectives to sit and wait, once the packages were delivered.
It did not take long. A property on Bateman Road had an I-Phone delivered at 1:03 PM. Detectives watched as a Honda rolled up to the house and a passenger got out of the car, grabbed the package and then ran back to the car. at 1:17 PM. Police said they conducted an immediate car stop and determined that the people in the car had no claim to the phone.
The passenger was identified as Elvi Duran Vargas, and the vehicle owner/driver was identified as Elias Gomez-Rodriguez. Several I-Phone boxes were visible to police inside the car. and they impounded the vehicle as well as the cell phones of both defendants.
Police checked license plate readers and determined the vehicle was in Hatboro, Willow Grove area. Rodriguez was interviewed and stated that Vargas was being provided with tracking numbers and addresses by an unknown subject. Vargas declined to be interviewed.
Both are charged with theft and other offenses.
