State Rep Tina Davis had a great way to thank those that served in the United States Military. She hosted a dinner for them in their honor. Held late last week at Heritage Hall, next to the Newportville Fire Company, about 200 vets came out to eat and hear speakers.

Pennsylvania has a new Adjutant General to serve and help , his name is John R. Pippy. He is a Brigadier General and he assumed his duties on September 30, of this year. According to his published bio, He is responsible for the command and control of nearly 18,000 Army and Air National Guard members (3rd largest National Guard); a complement of 2,500 commonwealth employees; care of residential cadets at the Keystone State ChalleNGe Academy; and six state-owned veterans homes and programs for Pennsylvania’s more than 700,000 veterans (fourth largest in the nation). Pippy was one of the keynote speakers.
The two hour event was well attended. With speeches by other notables , including Davis and State Senator Steve Santaserio and a military band, everyone seemed to have a great time. Unfortunately, many vets have mobility issues and for that, the Bristol Borough trolley car was brought in to shuttle people from the parking lot to the hall.
