Bristol Male Gets Almost Five Years In Jail For Knife Attack At Federal Building

Anthony Lombardo, 46, of Bristol, is going to be spending over four years in federal prison after he was found guilty of attacking court security officer on January 17 2023. The guard was paroling the perimeter of the James A. Byrne U.S. Courthouse at 7th & Market Streets in Philadelphia, when Lombardo approached him with a large kitchen knife. He refused to put down the knife. It escalated to the officer having to shoot Lombardo .
As medics were treating him, the found an additional knife on him as well as makeshift body armor. He was on probation for assault of a police officer in 2006.
On April 9, 2024, Lombardo was charged by information with assault on a federal officer. On May 6, Lombardo waived prosecution by indictment and entered a plea of guilty.
“Twice now, Anthony Lombardo has targeted police and security officers with violence,” said U.S. Attorney Jaqueline Romero. “Whatever your goals or grievances, if you try to harm someone working to protect a federal courthouse or facility, rest assured that my office and our partners will work to hold you fully accountable.”
