Car Thief Shot Dead By Vehicle Owner In Frankford

A car thief is head after being shot one time in his head yesterday afternoon at the Frankford Transportation Center. The shooter was the owner of the car that witnessed the theft. Philadelphia Police said it all started during the afternoon, about an hour after Governor Josh Shapiro was at the terminal for a press conference.

The vehicle owner left his car running and unlocked. The 29 year old male had a permit to carry. A 48 year old male saw the unoccupied vehicle and hopped in and tried to take off. The car owner saw this, chased after his vehicle and fired one shot into the car thief’s head. The stolen car then crashed head on into a taxi.

The thief was rushed by police and taken to a local hospital,where he was pronounced dead just after 6:00 PM. The shooter was taken into custody but had not yet been charged. A firearm has been recovered. No names have been released by police.

  1. Bridge/Pratt terminal is in my old neighborhood, and that hood has changed terribly.
    I won’t even get near that bus terminal these days.

    However, that young guy didn’t use his brains by leaving his car unsecured.
    Being so careless and sloppy is idiotic in these times.
    And the dumb creep carjacker is just as much at fault.
    Carjackers, take note – you’ll never know if the owner’s got a gun.
    Nevertheless, this a Feel-Good” story for the day.
