Auto Show Rolls Into Philly

by Alex Lloyd Gross

The 2025 Auto Show is back at the Pennsylvania Convention Center for nine days. the last day is January 20th. A lot is new. There have been some changes to the auto show and it’s a bit different than in years past.

The show is all on one level. Older cars are in the Grand Hall. It’s there than you can see vehicles , fully restored from the 1920’s, and more. A 1986 Rolls Royce is a head tuner. Back in the day it was about $100,000 new. Now, the average car is close to that, for high end models. You can see them all at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Cars that were used in movies are also on display. Toyota is the only manufacturer still doing test drives. The rest have people waste close to an hour in line for the ability to be a passenger for a ride on an indoor track. What a waste of time.

Tesla is new this year and they have their Cybertruck on display. It’s drawing huge crowds. Another thing drawing huge crowds is the Ford racer, where people can get into a simulator and operate a race car around a track( it’s on screen ). The ride tilts and maneuvers. It’s always a great attraction.

Merchants and vendors are selling car related items, like vintage gas station logo signs or shammy cloths that they claim are the next best thing.

Custom Alley is a pretty cool area to see souped up cars or make contact with people who can preform that service for you. Should you have an exotic or high end car, there are people that can garage it for you. For more information on the auto show, click here..

I went to the auto show in 2002 and 2003 with a couple of my friends.
It was nice, some vehicles were impressive, and the new 2-seater Ford Thunderbird was a big show attaction.

But today’s vehicles seem so clone-like.
    Not like pre-80’s machines.
I used to be big with cars in my 20’s back in the circa 1970’s, but today they all seem to look alike and boring.
